Bio

Alex and Jean-Marc Berne were born in Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic. Both brothers had their musical start as children singing and making harmonies before going to bed at night. This ability to harmonize developed into a songwriting powerhouse influenced by the sounds of Rock and Roll, Jazz, Classical, Merengue and Pop music. All of these diverse styles define The Berne Brothers’ versatility, which has only grown with every new song they have written together.

Big brother Jean-Marc began writing songs at 12, and then learned how to play the guitar at 16. His brother Alex followed his footsteps soon after by taking guitar lessons and quickly learning that he had a natural talent for music. Alex and Jean-Marc first formed a band together, and gave birth to their first song, “Run Around My Head.”

Since then, the Berne Brothers’ repertoire has expanded to more than 70 songs. One of their latest songs is “One Way Street”, which has quickly topped the independent music charts of www.mpulse.com, remaining at the top 20 downloaded songs in the rock genre since it was first uploaded into the site. With “Canta Por Ella” and “Just Another Dream,” the Berne Brothers have sparked the interest of both independent and major music labels.
