7 Day Weekend® and the newly released Can You Hear Me Now album is a studio project designed to showcase
the original popular jazz/neosoul works of Fred "Lightfoot" Woodley and myself. Norman Perry, the original drummer
for the soul group The Dramatics played on all tracks. In the experimental spirit of Steely Dan's 70's recordings, I
used a number of top-shelf L.A. musicians including studio ace John Bolivar (who has worked with luminaries such as
Quincy Jones), Jason Meyers (The Recession), Bobby Williams (The N2N Horns), violinist Mark Cargill (Gerald Albright, Ahmad Jamal),
Lady Mac (BB King, Coolio), Henry Cook, Jailyn Matthews, and Lea and Mark Emerson of Envoy. I am happy to showcase some
newly discovered talent like teenage soul-diva Rhapsody Artajo.
