Sunday at the Recital

Story Behind The Song

A friend of mine teaches guitar to youngsters. He shows them all of the "clinical" things to do, then one day tells them to just learn one song that they would like to perform live. He then works with them and twice per year has them front his band with their selection as "Blew Hemi" backs them up for their families to enjoy. It's the mixing of the dry learning process along with the adreneline of the performance. I saw eyes light up and creativity born.

Lyrics

It's a sleepy little Sunday,
In our quiet little town.
Bob brought his desciples here,
To lay there lessons down.
So I decided to bring you,
A little blues to pass around.

Well, the bad new is,
This isn't my very best song.
But the good news is,
We won't be doin' it long.
So if you'll just hang in there with me,
I'll try not to do you no wrong.

Well, everybody here,
All you ladies and gents.
Gather 'round together,
For these special events.
'Cause we're proud of all this talent,
Celebtrate their accomplishments.

Yeah, it's a sleepy little Sunday,
Around five o'clock.
We're gonna wrap it up now,
With a little bit of Rock.

Once again, Bob, take a bow.
One more time around the block.
