Song Description

I was at Fort Benning redeploying from Bosnia to the United States when I first heard a soldier use this phrase. He said, " five days and a wake and we'll be home." To this day I still can remember that feeling of euphoria, knowing I was finally home.

Lyrics

Two years gone and you?re still by my side
Hard to believe what I?ve seen with my eyes
Now times are tough but you stuck around
Thank god for you even when I?m down

Cause ? seems like all I make are mistakes
Ya time ? has shown me how bad life?s without you

Three days and a wake up ? I?m coming home
Last days spent apart ? I?m coming home
Three days and a wake up? I?m coming home
No more nights up alone ? I?m coming home to you

Been given much so I?ll do my part
Can?t save them all but one?s a good start
Events in motion I cannot change
We?ve made the best of a run-down dream

Cause ? seems like all I make are mistakes
Ya time ? has shown me how bad life?s without you

Three days and a wake up ? I?m coming home
Last days spent apart ? I?m coming home
Three days and a wake up? I?m coming home
No more nights up alone ? I?m coming home to you

Bridge/Lead

Three days and a wake up ? I?m coming home
Last days spent apart ? I?m coming home
Three days and a wake up? I?m coming home
No more nights up alone ? I?m coming home to you
To you? to you? to - you!
