So Far, So Good

Story Behind The Song

We're three Californian boys who moved up to Oregon to get away from everything and started making pop music. We've been hidden away for 10 months recording a bunch of new tracks, and we're now beginning to release them.

Song Description

Our debut song, "So Far, So Good", is a happy-go-lucky synth-pop burner with tropical undertones and a classic guitar solo. I like to imagine it as the soundtrack to the rum-drenched island vacation of a guy trying to get over a recently ended relationship.

Lyrics

So Far, So Good

- V1 -

She was 17 and oh so beautiful
She knows just how to make me look a fool
Never enough, but it's always too much
Gotta barrel through, bare and grin
Barely through all this buried sin

She likes the way it looks
But not the way it works
Playin' light switch til she burns out
Lions in the dark now

Lukewarm, spitchaoutta my mouth
If you won't take a chance
Never try, never find out

- C1 -

And when you wear your black dress in the moonlight, I'm through
But you don't make a sound you just stare at the ground, come on
Why won't you let me help you
Hold on, hold out. Too far?

- V2 -

Anxiety's complexity
Shouting loud blasphemy
Can you persuade me
Not to get hung up? (clap clap)

I think I might have my heart on my sleeve
But I know I got my jacket on too

Attention span
Long enough to see it go down
Would you say anything?
Would you be anything-
To me or my dreams?
And again I'll ask you:

Would you persuade me? Would you persuade me? Oh!

- C2 -

And when you wear your black dress in the moonlight, I'm through
But you don't make a sound you just stare at the ground, come on
Why won't you let me help you
Hold on, hold out. Too far?

- B -

She says she likes the way her friends all look
I'll be staring at photos I took of you,
Now I don't really want to waste my time
But I can't give-a you up, no I can't give-a you up

- SOLO -

- ENDING C -

And when you wear your black dress in the moonlight, I'm through
But you don't make a sound you just stare at the ground, come on
Why won't you let me help you
Hold on, hold out. Too far?

Now when you wear your black dress in those midnight pictures
Yeah I don't make a sound I just stare at the ground, no I
I still can't let you go, I'll
Hold on, hold out too long...

I still can't, I still can't, I still can't let you go
