Be quick tonight
Come ease my mind from painful recollection
Oh my body
Yearns for your touch
But you won't be here to warm me with affection

Oh Sleep..
Just sleep

I can't close my eyes
I keep on trying and trying - but I lose my perspective
I can take it
I'm all alone
I don't need anyone.
You're just my obsession

So I sleep
You and me
We used to sing...
La dee dah dah, La dee dah dee yay
La dee dah dah, La dee dah dee yay

I don't know why
I really don't
I can't close my eyes
I don't know why
I really don't
I can't close my eyes

Sleep, Dream - Sweet dreams
Through the night
My mind keeps playing tricks on me
I wake up alone and my body
Yearns for your touch
But you won't be there to warm me with perfection

Oh Sleep
Just sleep
La dee dah dah, La dee dah dee yay
La dee dah dah, La dee dah dee yay

I'm getting a lot of different influences on this track that all blend together perfectly to create a unique sound scape. Well done.

Really nice vocal textures. I like the idea of holding off on the bass at the beginning. The arrangement sounds really big. At 2:00, nice vocal change, really good feel and delivery. I like that the song ends without the drums.

This is an interesting song. The subject is sleep (or lack thereof) because the singer's partner isn't there. Nice pretty intro. I like the internal rhymes that occur throughout the song (affection, perfection, perspective, obsession). Not exact rhymes but comes across as clever. Passionate vocal, and love the Lah dee dahs. Nice touch on the percussion. Love the way the instrumentation backs off at the ending featuring the vocals being the last thing you hear. Nice job!

I like this song. It reminds me of 80's rock. The subject makes sense.

Well! I enjoyed everything about this song... three times in a row, in fact! It evokes the best parts of 80s-90s rock with a cleaner and more modern production style. The doubled vocal and harmony tracks in the stereo field are simply sublime, and the instrumentation/arrangement is well thought out and executed all around with unexpected subtlety and dramatic turns in all the right places -- right down to the final solo piano chord.

I know I already mentioned the stereo-field once, but this production makes such good use of it that it is worth mentioning again. There is care and thought put into the placement of each element in the mix, and it is really great work.

You need 7 stars for originality and arrangement. You took a very mundane and common problem and turned it into a work of art by getting us in touch with very deep feelings, not by telling us something but putting us there.
