Story Behind The Song
After 9/11, I thought about the rekindling of the american patriotic spirit and the inspired determination demonstrated by everyone who gave of themselves to get things cleaned up so quickly. That and the ensuing war on terrorism that took our sons, daughters, fathers and mothers to Iraq to face the threat head on.
I tried to compose a song that would convey both the get it done determination of american through the vernacular of straight ahead blues/rock and a celebration of the uniting of diverse cultures in the same cause by combining with it a more sophisticated sound. It's a little hard to describe, but I hop it comes across in the song and the title together.
Song Description
This song starts out as a sort of southern blues rock number with lead guitar in the tradition of the greqt blues/rock players with a coule touches of uncharacteristic fusion jazz-like breaks, and the builds up to a sudden transition to a more smooth fusion jaz section with new synth keyboard and vive-like sounds with a lighter playful feel. It the returns to the flavor of the beginning section, modified to blend the first and second sections styles in a finishing climax.
