Story Behind The Song
My grandfather is a wise old soul and as I was growing up in the country he was my 'guru' so to speak. We talked of the comparison bettween the city and the country life and he used to say that the city is alot like war you get caught up in your own emotions and become self absorbed because there is so much stimulation around you that you tend to forget the people who really care for you and want you around more often.
Song Description
About a longing to be with my grandfather and people in the country where there is the essence of fraternity as a pose to the city wherre there isn't that real community spirit

Lyrics
So far away
that's where I have been
So far away
that's where I have been
To the banks of the Golburn
And to that old Apple farm
I've walked for miles on end
to see my grandfathers den
oh and the old wise one once said
please don't go
I sit and watch the seasons pass
and I dread those wintery blues
It's war in your world
though peaceful in mine
So far away
that's where I have been
So far away
that's where I have been
To the banks of the Golburn
And to that old Apple farm
Stay for that country harmony
'cause that's what your city lacks
go where the friendly people roam
as they open the door for you
