Song Description

I got another bill from IRS, but then I got another bill for interest.

Story Behind the Song

After receiving another bill from IRS, I immediately sent it in. Then I got another bill for interest, even though they had cashed my check on time. So I sent them $50 to cover the $11.35, and said send me what's left. I wasn't taking any chances on more interest!

IRS, You Ain't Gonna Get....

OH, IRS, you ain't gonna get, no
'Leven Dollars and thirty-five cents from me.

Come April fifteenth I filed my plan
Made it to the post office right on time.
I was just as happy as could be
'Cause IRS won't be comin' after me.

Post office stayed open until midnight.
Everybody hoped their tax was right.
A band was playin', Big Bird was a swayin';
Peope were talkin 'bout the taxes they're payin'.

OH, IRS, you ain't gonna get, no
'Leven Dollars and thirty-five cents from me.

Couple months went by I got a note in the mail.
Pay another thousand dollars or go to jail.
I was so upset, I paid it right away,
Thinkin' that's all I had to do to keep 'em away.

Would you believe a week went by
I got another letter wantin' interest now.
Send Eleven Dollars and thrity-five cents.
My cancelled check didn't help my defense.

OH, IRS, you ain't gonna get, no
'Leven Dollars and thirty-five cents from me.

I wrote them a letter, sent a fifty-dollar check.
Said "Take all you want and send me the rest.
Don't want no SPIP established like a scam -
That's your 'Self-Perpetuating Interest Program.' "

SO, IRS, That's all you're gonna get,
That's all you're gonna get,
That's all you're gonna get,
Oh IRS, That's all you're gonna get....
From me................this year...

OH, IRS, you ain't gonna get, no
'Leven Dollars and thirty-five cents from me.
