Story Behind The Song
It is a story about my wifes father that for the most part of his life was an acaholic. He was drivin to drink by some of the people that he loved so much. They never realalized that he was the man that he was. Including myself. He never hurt anyone but himself.
Song Description
It's all about a man that devoted his life to his family and did without himself. He was a silent type of person and was very unrewarded during his life. It wasn't until he had died that anyone reconized that he was truely a hero.

Lyrics
Hero!
VRS: 1. I got home from work late one evening, my wife met me outside the door, she gave me a kiss, told me she loved me, said I have, some questions for you. What does it take to be a hero, does a hero have to be a certain size, do they have to shed their blood, or lay down their lives, do they have to go battle, do they even have to fight. I don?t think so, but I really don?t know, because most heroes wear a disguise,
(CHORUS) But a hero?s a hero, a hero?s a hero, no matter the shape or the size, a hero?s a hero, no matter what the disguise.
VRS: 2. It could be your next door neighbor, it might be your closest friend, could be the one, you sleep with at night, it might be your next of kin. But you may never know, because it may never show, because that?s the way most heroes are, but a hero?s a hero, no matter who they are. They might never receive a medal, or even a pat on the back, that?s not why they do the things that they do, that?s just the things that heroes do.
(CHORUS) But a hero?s a hero, a hero?s a hero, no matter the shape or the disguise.
VRS: 3. She said I was thinking about daddy, and how much he meant to me, how much he gave, so others could have, he gave all that he could give. He never could jump over buildings, or carry the world on his back, and he never complained, when he was in pain, my dad was a hero to me. My dad was a hero to me, he never complained, he just endured the pain, my dad was a hero to me,
(CHORUS) A hero?s a hero, no matter the shape or size, a hero?s a hero, no matter the disguise. A hero?s a hero, a hero?s a hero, no matter the shape or size, A hero?s a hero, no matter the disguise.
