Ave. Maria

Story Behind The Song

William Blake visited me in a dream and drew a mural upon my wall and this is what a saw. I immediately woke up and wrote it all down. The music and melody was already in my head because the words were covered with sounds. I must have either been visited by an angel in disguise, or channeling some spirits because I am in no way religious and can't fathom how I possibly wrote this in ten minutes.

Song Description

This song is a reflection of both inner and outer worlds, and everything beyond it all conjured up and tangled together in one big bang of a consciousness past, present, and future, occurring simultaneously on the same plane of time. It visits and considers the fall of the twin towers, the destruction of hurricanes, the contrast between peace and war, recent tsunamis, and elicits a religious tone, in a vast vision that blows and burns like a black roman candle setting the whole stage on fire and leaving you nothing but the real truth.

Lyrics

Found a jewel in the rocks where the feathers fell from the sky
Pulled the wings from a bird and wrapped them over my eyes
Now I swing on the string where the mad men sing
From the frightened street of Ave. Maria

I saw the gnome of the land walk to where all the people would stand
With unshaken hands they carried him unto the sand
A little boy shrieks while they murder the creep
And his body burns on Ave. Maria

I heard the howl of white wolves in the back of the woods where they prowl
Where sheep soft as snow gallantly enter their mouths
I ask, "why must you run to your cemetery"
Because we can live on Ave. Maria

Bright silhouettes creep with death every shadowy step
They protect peace while your brother bleeds from the head
Trace them with out cruelty
While your fingers freeze on Ave. Maria

Now thieves in black suites point their fingers at truth and they shoot
Liberty bells only ring when they are pursued
Hear jezebel sing while the terrors of sea
Wash upon Ave. Maria

Quiet you fool you're no billboard you are just a saint
Soon all that you have lost will be all that will save you
When the whistle blows
The scarecrow leans
Against the canvas of the trees
Dancing in a yellow breeze
Upon the Street of Ave. Maria
