Song Description

A relationship is cut short and the song is about dealing with the loss from 'the other side'.

Story Behind the Song

My co-writer Adam Maxfield came up with the concept which I expanded on, and we both finished off the lyrics and music. It was about exploring love after death.

Lyrics

On The Other Side

Written by: Terese Millhouse and Adam Maxfield

ON THE OTHER SIDE

Verse 1:
It always rains on days like today
I watch you try to figure out what's next
I see your tears, I can feel your pain
I left too soon, we weren't finished yet

Chorus
But it's not over, I'm still holding on
There's much more for us to do
So live your dreams, make them come to life
And I'll be waiting for you...on the other side...
Verse 2
I have been welcomed here with open arms
The warmth of music shines with colours unseen
These angel's wings beat with your heart
I'm no longer there, please remember me
Chorus 2
But it's not over I'm still holding on
There's much more for us to do
So live your dreams, make them come to life
And I'll be waiting for you...on the other side

Bridge
I watched you as the years went by
You stood on your own and loved again
Now its time to close your eyes and see
That I am here and waiting for you...
take my haaaaaaand

Chorus 3 (key change: semi-tone higher)
But it's not over, we are holding on
There's much more for us to do
Let's live our dreams, make them come to life
Now that I'm here with you, now that I'm here with you,
now that I'm here with you...on the other side
