Story Behind The Song
Recorded Live in York, Pennsylvania at Dave Farr's Hippie Farm in 1973
Song Description
Entire Live Stoner Rock Concert.
Strawbridge
1973 performing Live at Dave Farr's Hippie Farm.
Played in a open barn on top of a wheat grain bin.
So much fun. Chris Davis showed up with his Keyboards
looking for a jam. Adding song to the Ancient Blood Moon Clan Music Minstrel Vault
We never played with him before. Chris got up and played the songs
with us as if we'd been playing together forever. James the drummer gave me this cassette tape
of the live concert. Had no idea at the time we were being recorded.
Have no idea who did the recording. Was told it was two
guys with this old mono reel to reel recorder. It's very lo-fi and raw.
But they captured the energy of the band. At the time we were the loudest sonic hard rock band
in York. Right up there with the Who in Volume.
Remember It was a beautiful Spring day in May. The counterculture
was in full swing at it's peak everyone had hair down to their shoulders.
The 60's though, you could feel it were coming to a close and the disco era was
just starting soon to sweep across the land. Yuck. We were still
rockin hard though writing" alternative" "stoner rock?" songs. Ha.
Love this era in rock the early 70's. So much fun so creative.
Thought it was going to last forever. Never end.
But it did.
