The Fated Fall of the Scouring Scoundrels

Story Behind The Song

A series of random ideas popping into our heads that created a story.

Song Description

Comes in with a Cocteau Twins-esque guitar part, then vocals, drums, and bass soon follow. The guitar then solos in a Steve Howe-esque Style, changing into a Dead Can Dance- esque mixture of guitar, world drums, and lyrics. The guitar strums a distorted chord and the music progresses into a heavier, more 70's progressive rock feel. The parts alternate between two people. A gun shoots, and rain starts along with thunder and the like. The guitar plays a slow, Steve Howe/Robin Guthrie-esque slow attack part, while the bass and Vocals continue. The Guitar then moves to playing a harmonic part with spoken word over it. Gun shoots and the song ends.

Lyrics

Cool air
Blows down on my face
From your window there
Out in nowhere place
Damn running's got me sick
The air here is thick
But I got my cut
And that ain't much
I need more

Quiet!
If you want your money, you can find it
I was the one who discovered the man
I was the one who came up with the plan
I should get more
Just look at the score
I've got so much your eyes will be sore

I'll take the money if I am forced to
I'm leaving! Goodbye! I'm through with you
There's not enough here for two
You say I'm crazy
You say I'm lazy
You know you can't see it is much much too hazy
And if I'd a dime for each time you said me
I'd have near a million or two or three
So goodbye my friend as I would once call you I'll let not my motions hinder or stal you.

Mendacious! That's what you are
I'm surprised that you got this far
I must give you credit
I'll never forget it
That two silly little boys could get it
The money I mean
But now your friend's dead or so it would seem

Liar! You fool! His life I'll avenge
The thirst of this bullet your blood will quench

Is this how it has to be
The end with me on my knees?
Money doesn't please
But it holds the keys
To material nonsuch
Rain makes so much
Those effervescent puddles
That flow down the outer streets
And so I too shall flutter
With broken wings down that gutter
