Praying For Time Re-Mix (cover of George Michael's song)

Story Behind The Song

I don't know why George Michael wrote this song at the time of typing this, but I do know why I made this cover. If this was the last piece of music or song-making I ever did, I would die in peace. Just how I feel nowadays as it could very well be the last song or music with vocals I ever make. Not only am I fighting a massive depression, but I really do think this world is coming to an end of an age. Global warming. Apocalypse. Fires in Australia. Record temperatures in Antartica. Even the great Sir Isaac Newton himself predicted the end of the earth around 2060. I find myself asking, "Should I be praying for more time?" For good people, it means pro-longing the suffering. But we all want those special moments with loved ones, family, friends, lovers... to last forever.... more time with them, right? But there is evil in the world. And I'm not sure I personally can tolerate it anymore. The world sucks. And if you boil down to the foundational issue for the imminent end of the earth, it's basically over-population. Humanity's TIME IS UP in this existence... in this form. So why pray for more time? Maybe the prayer should be, "Jesus, please come back like you promised and let's get eternity started. Let's begin the new life you spoke of." Either way, it still feels like we'd being praying for time, doesn't it? ;-) God bless you all. I hope you are well. May God keep you and bless you. May you place your faith in Jesus Christ. Receive His forgiveness, and let's move on. Thank you, George Michael, for this beautiful song. It's like he was a prophet or something LOL!

Lyrics

These are the days of the open hand
They will not be the last
Look around now
These are the days of the beggars and the choosers

This is the year of the hungry man
Whose place is in the past
Hand in hand with ignorance
And legitimate excuses

The rich declare themselves poor
And most of us are not sure
If we have too much
But we'll take our chances
'Cause God's stopped keeping score

I guess somewhere along the way
He must have let us all out to play
Turned his back and all God's children
Crept out the back door

And it's hard to love, there's so much to hate
Hanging on to hope
When there is no hope to speak of
And the wounded skies above say it's much much too late
Well maybe we should all be praying for time

These are the days of the empty hand
Oh, you hold on to what you can
And charity is a coat you wear twice a year

This is the year of the guilty man
Your television takes a stand
And you find that what was over there is over here

So you scream from behind your door
Say, "What's mine is mine and not yours"
I may have too much but I'll take my chances
'Cause God's stopped keeping score

And you cling to the things they sold you
Did you cover your eyes when they told you
That he can't come back
'Cause he has no children to come back for

It's hard to love, there's so much to hate
Hanging on to hope when there is no hope to speak of
And the wounded skies above say it's much too late
So maybe we should all be praying for time
