Story Behind The Song
The original lyric came from an image my cowriter had. It was a picture of James Dean walking alone down a street. It seemed to him to be a "Boulevard of Broken Dreams." From that, I took the idea of following dreams, even through adversity, with someone you love and seeing eachother through.

Lyrics
It?s been hard.
I will not deny it?s been hard to keep it going,
but we?ve kept upon the path we?ve had in mind.
Balanced on the fine line between a dream and a delusion.
It?s so clear that, for us, there is no other road to wind.
Keep your head above the clouds;
our luck will turn around.
It could happen any time.....
There?ll always be a shelter
for all your hopes and dreams and visions;
cradled in the safety of our love.
We?ll pull eachother forward
We?ve come so far from where we?d first begun
Our day will come in time........
.....but for now don?t let any bitterness consume you
or the concrete will feel as liquid as quicksand.
It?s like walking on the water
without a single stone to step on.
Don?t go there....baby, don?t despair just take my hand.
A wave upon the tide,
on this current we will ride.
I can almost see the shore!
[Chorus]
Moving between dawn and twilight,
we?ll find a path to see us through
When your hopes are burning embers
I?ll light a flame for you!
[Chorus]
