Story Behind The Song
Magic is an integral part of my life, so this
song springs from that world view. I tend to
write lyrics first - a poem - and then create
the music to fit them, and that's how this
song came to be. The opening image of finding
the silver dress on the street came from
something that happened to my friend, Cindy.
When she told me about it, I thought "That
would make a great story or song" but it was
a while before I actually used it.
Song Description

Lyrics
Found a silver dress lying on the street
When I tried it on it fit
like it was meant for me
Feels like such a long time
I've been waiting for a sign
To show me that I'm on the path
the universe designed
CHORUS; You say omens are not so but I just
can't agree. Now that I've found this silver
dress my fate is changed you'll see.
Read the cards I've cast the runes
I've used my crystal ball
But none of them could tell me where
my destiny would fall
Today tomorrow yesterday I'm trying to find
my way
So I can know once and for all I haven't
gone astray
CHORUS
Sometimes my luck comes and goes
just like Avalon
First it's here and then recedes
into the
mists beyond
And when the moon is waxing
I will cast a jasmine spell
To bring me luck and happiness
And a new love as well
CHORUS, CHORUS
