Song Description

This is a song to make the listener want to be at the lake and share in the joy of nature.

Story Behind the Song

This was written with my sister and niece in mind. My sister loves the lake and her teenage daughter spent some time with her at a resort.

Place on the Lake
© 2009 Sheila Dixon/Susan Foster-Trewick

We are sitting on the pier, the water is so clear
We're splashing our feet, It's all so sweet
We are the best of friends, And here we are again
Together through all the years, We grow older, in mirrors

Let's go to the place on the lake, Where you and I can make
Memories we'll take, For always

Wearing swimsuits and flip flops, in our cut-offs and tank tops
We drink gator-ade, and lemonade
There's ice cream all around, We are never down
Taking snacks from the cooler, Can't believe I'm a high-schooler
(Chorus x 2)

You are my best friend, You're with me 'till the end
You are unlike any other, Thank you mother

(chorus x 2)

Memories we'll take, For Always
