Song Description

This song has an acoustic guitar and clear vocal as the main body of the song. It has minimal production with string melodies and light keyboard sounds, bass and soft contemporary drums. It has a light optimistic feel to it although the lyrics are quite deep. It's basically about wanting to change negative behaviours brought about by hurt and rejection. Things I have experienced in my life. I wrote this song to help me move forward to a better place. I guess it was my expression of encouragement to myself and for others to relate to in a similar situations. It is a song about making a positive change to your life, facing your demons inside, then squeezing them out.

Story Behind the Song

I wrote this song at a time of my life when I wanted to make positive changes. I wanted to be free of negative and destructive behaviours that were preventing me from moving forward in my personal and spiritual life.

Lyrics

In the light of the morning star
I think I've gone too far
I want to change my way
I want to get back my grace
I want to change my place
I want to get back my faith

It's that soft little voice
in the back of my mind
makes me want to scream and shout
and all of the things
I've got buried inside
I just want to squeeze them out
and all of the things I've
got buried inside
I just want to squeeze them out
I just want to squeeze
I just want to squeeze
I just want to squeeze them out

In the light of the morning sun
we see all the things we've done
Oh light of the morning star
I want to get back my love
I want to get back my heart
I want to get back my star

It's that soft little voice
in the back of my mind
makes me want to scream and shout
and all of the things
I've got buried inside
I just want to squeeze them out
and all of the things I've
got buried inside
I just want to squeeze them out
I just want to squeeze
I just want to squeeze
I just want to squeeze them out

No more lies no more jealousy
no more pride no more apathy
no... its no good for me
it's no good for me

It's that soft little voice
in the back of my mind
makes me want to scream and shout
and all of the things
I've got buried inside
I just want to squeeze them out
and all of the things I've
got buried inside
I just want to squeeze them out
I just want to squeeze
I just want to squeeze
I just want to squeeze
I just want to squeeze
I just want to squeeze them out
