I had a dream where I was walking
High above the city streets.
High enough to wonder how I got there
Low enough to see
People standing
Circled around a body
Lying
Dying at their feet
So I dove a little lower
Tried to look a little closer
Peered my eyes over a shoulder
And realized that it was me.

So I stood in great confusion
Wondering what this illusion meant
I closed my eyes just for a second
And somehow it all had came and went
And I was thrust into the ocean
Surrounded by a thousand men
Women and their children tried to swim up to the surface
I could see their faces nervous
And realized they were me.

I had a dream where I was
Drunk and stumbling
Beaten by the hands of time.
My filthy hands outstretched
Beggar's eyes meet those of passers by
In the haze of my delusion
I approached a man who reeked an air of pride
As i asked himfor his change
There rose a feeling
Deep and strange
His blurry face my eyes did rearrange
To realize that it was me.
