Sail to Portsmouth (Instrumental)

Story Behind The Song

"Sail to Portsmouth" is dedicated to my birthplace and home town Portsmouth, New Hampshire. Portsmouth is one of the great cities in America. Portsmouth has a long seafaring tradition. Early in America's history because of whaling, shipping and the U.S. Navy, Portsmouth was one of the largest cities in America. John Paul Jones lived and sailed out of Portsmouth. George Washington slept there and Paul Revere ended his "The Red Coats are coming" ride there. The Portsmouth Naval Shipyard which continues Portsmouth naval tradition today, is the oldest in the country established in 1800. If you're ever in New Hampshire give Portsmouth a visit, it's full of history and was a great place to grow up!
