Her daddy called her Mud Flap, dirty little girl,
Living in the back woods, playin' with the squirrels,
Big thing each week, was a Saturday bath,
Go to church in the barfoot, all the other kids laughed.
Just 'bout when she turned ten,
She started growing like a dandelion,
Fighting in the school yard, had a smart mouth,
In trouble nearly all the time.

Mud Flap, just like that, in a blink of an eye,
Who'd a thunk that little caterpillar would change to a butterfly?
Flimsy dress, hair's a mess and legs clean off the map,
Baby, well the truth is really, she's a Hillbilly filly,
Everybody called her Mud Flap.

Mama gave her whoopins, mischievious one,
Shot her brother in the behind, with his own BB gun.
Spit balls in the classroom, back row makin' noise,
Nine ball in the pool hall, takin' money from the boys,
Suddenly at seventeen, her body starts peakin',
All bustin' out in curves,
Sweet cream butter, honey from the hive,
A little bit of peach preserves.

Mud Flap, just like that, in a blink of an eye,
Who'd a thunk that little caterpillar would change to a butterfly?
Flimsy dress, hair's a mess and legs clean off the map,
Baby, well truth is really, she's a Hillbilly filly,
Everybody calls her Mud Flap.

Changed her name, went to New York City,
Took a job in a coffee shop,
Caught the eye of a big time agent,
Who took her right to the top.

Mud Flap, just like that, blink of an eye,
Who'd a thunk that little caterpillar would change to a butterfly?
The world knows her best in a designer dress and those legs clean off the map.
Well the truth is really, she's a Hillbilly filly,
The world knows her best in a designer dress and those legs clean off the map.
Well the truth is really, she's a Hillbilly filly,
We still call her Mud Flap.ruth is really, she's a Hillbilly filly,
We still call her Mud Flap.
We still call her Mud Flap.

I enjoy the song very much. Can't make out the title, though. First I thought it was Mud blood, then Mud fly and in the end I had to give up. But I really like the hook, the sound of the singer and the whole arrangement. A real summer song because it makes me happy. And I really enjoyed the lyrics. Good story even though I couldn't make out that one single word the Mud.... something.

I absolutely loved the lyric. Great rhymes and very strong imagery and action...It was colorful detailed and descriptive A+...The vocal was authentic but I wouldn't call this contemporary...It was a great example of Americana rock ala Polk Salad Annie...story songs like this are very seldom contemporary. Regardless it was highly entertaining and I enjoyed listening to it...the chord progression was unpredictable as well as the phrasing

I like the sound of the drums and the bass guitar.

What a cool country song! Love how it tells a story !!!! Great hook.. Lyrics are so visual! Quite amazing:)great country vocals!! Nice instrumentations!!!

Awesome lyrical imagery throughout, very conversational, great coming of age and growing up storytelling. Nicely done.

Good concept, story and execution. Very well done! radio ready.
