Story Behind The Song
wrote this song after moving to Laurel Canyon in LA back in 93.
My girlfriend (now my wife) stayed behind in Greenville, S.C. ("when I left I missed her")
While living in the canyon, just got to thinking about all of the places I have been. Knowing I wasn't gonna stay in LA very long, I also got to wondering where I was going to end up.
Good thing I wrote this back then. It would have had to of been a much longer song. I have moved many times since...............

Lyrics
verse
I lived in Amarillo
Awhile in OKC
The people down in Houston will always be a part of me
I hitched a ride to Greenville, in the Carolina hills
And when I left I missed her
I guess I always will
chorus
Im just passing through
I don't know how long I'll be
Passing through
Where the wind will carry me
I don't know where I'm going or when I get there what I'll do
I'm just passing through
verse
Atlanta Georgia was my kinda town
But it couldn't hold this traveler down
I I went to Laurel Canyon
Under the California sun
It's no place for a country boy
All I knew to do was run
chours
I'm just passing through.................
