Song Description

Two lovers begin the song still stinging from the heated fight only to realize as the song progresses how much they truly love each other, that true love is precious and rare and should be valued and protected.

Story Behind the Song

Writen by JoAnna Noble and I one sunny afternoon as we relaxed on her redwood deck under majestic California Oak trees overlooking the Russian River in the romantic Northern California Wine Country.

Broadjam Member Reviews

Great ballance between Vocals. Good ballance between the music bed. Great instrumentation also. Great Flute playing and Fretless bass. Love the Guitar stereo field.

    - Robert Story Jr.
Lyrics

Like Shy Children
By Roger Bolt & JoAnna Noble

I'm alone deep in the night
There's no peace in thinking I'm right.
Can't sleep, just pacing the floor,
Sounds of our fight, you walking out the door.

I've given my heart up to you
There's nothing else I can do.
Like the shadows I'm here all alone,
Waiting for your voice on the phone.

Chorus;
Lovers should hold each other like shy children
Lovers should hold each other like shy children, again
Lovers should hold each other like shy children, again

Lost is the memory of what was said,
The sounds of anger still echo in my head.
Just foolish words to me now,
Without you it doesn't matter anyhow

It all seems so sad and a shame,
It doesn't matter who's to blame.
I need you here by my side,
To kiss away the tears that I've cried.

CHORUS

Let's take a lovers stand,
To hold our hearts like a bird in the hand.
On both our wings we will learn how to fly,
Joined together we will take to the sky.

Our love will grow with each beat of our wings,
Soaring together our souls will sing.
There's only one thing left to do,
To brush your lips and say I love you.

CHORUS

Holding you I remember why,
I feel for you from the sound of your sigh.
A paradise of the heart in love,
Surely must have come from heaven above.
