Song Description

The song was originally going to be a comedy piece, with snippets of lots of 80s classics, but it unrolled into a nice little story. I kept the snippets to add nostalgia to the piece.

Story Behind the Song

There are two versions of this song. While working with the song, I found the bare bones version with just vocal and piano sounded pretty good, so I posted that. Later, I finished this version with full band.

Very, very clever song!!! Love the way you integrate the 80's rock theme into lyrics and music! At first, the vocal seemed just OK but as the song got going, the vocalist zeroed in and the performance has tone, precision, and passion....I hear a little Jim Steinman..although I don't believe he is referenced in the song.

Nice song. I really like the way 80's songs are worked into this, as if a tribute song. Instrumentation works very well for this song. Cool arrangement. Clever lyrics.
