Story Behind The Song
I wrote the song, then my daughter Rosie sang it. She sounds so much better then me. Her voice has an innocence which gives the song greater depth. We recorded it one Sunday evening after dinner. It just seemed to work.
Song Description
It takes courage to speak your mind and say what you think - but its vital that we stand up for ourselves. Its Human Rights and human dignity. The song tells everyone they have the right to speak their mind.

Lyrics
Chorus
I?ve got rights and so have you
We stand up for what is true
That?s what everyone should do
Just talk it through
V1
Stand up for yourself, in the right way
You?ve just got to find the right words to say
Say them loud and say them strong
Tell the whole, world what?s been going on
V2
People can fall out, all around us
And it doesn?t help, now if you make a fuss
Keep your head and keep your cool
Show everyone that you?re no one?s fool
V3
Sometimes even friends tease each other
It might be your sister, you could be brothers
Don?t hit out and don?t blow up
Stand up tall and say you?ve had enough!
V4
If we take an eye for an eye,
The world will go blind now, and we won?t know why
Talk it through and talk it out
Show the whole world what you care about
