Story Behind The Song

The A section of this song was written for about a year, and the composer couldn't figure out how to finish it. After being stuck for quite some time, he played it for is wife, explaining that he couldn't figure out where to go from the last chord he'd written. His wife said that it was because that chord was the final chord, not the middle. With that he wrote a bridge in about twenty minutes, and the song was finished. It was named "Because of You" for the wife, who caused the song to be finished. It has won honorable mention in several song writing competitions.

Song Description

A bossa nova in the style of the great Brazilian pianist Jibim, this award winning song begins with acoustic guitar, then violin, then improvised solos with both instruments, closing with the violin and guitar playing the melody in harmony with one another. "Por Causa de Voce" mean "because of you" in Portugese, the language of Brasil.
