Winter Is On Us Again

Story Behind The Song

Being sheltered in place for 3 months is causing me to look at nature around me, and draw conclusions. It is difficult to be old and vulnerable in a pandemic, on the other hand in a few more weeks I should have enough songs for a new album.

My space is limited, so is the space of trees...they don't complain.

Lyrics

Winter IS On Us Again 6/13/20 Patrick Welch
My Kingdom is growing smaller, can't walk as far as I could.
The pathway is still out there mingling in friendly woods.
So take a deep breath with me, smell the green all around
It soon will pass, fall colors come fast
Winter is on us again.
If I am walking too slow, I still want to go,
Let's take a deep breath, time passes fast.
And winter is on us again.

The smaller my kingdom is growing, little things grow bigger for me
Watching the tree leaves grow bigger, bigger while sheltering in place.

We talked about the Trees, they always stay home,
They talk to their friends through roots underground.
Till winter is on us again. Soo....
Birds and squirrels happily play all the day,
Jumping and singing ... sheltered in place.
So take a deep breath with me, smell the green all around
It soon will pass, fall colors come fast
Winter is on us again.
If I am walking too slow, I still want to go,
Let's take a deep breath, time passes fast.
Winter is on us again.
