Story Behind The Song
This song come from my experience with the open mic scene at the Sidewalk cafe and the Raven. I was both a performer and a critic of acts who went up to perform.
Song Description
The narrator recognizes and empathizes with the lifestyle of the average open mic musician. However, he's also challenging the musician to entertain him when he's sitting down to listen to him. Each musician is allowed two songs to perform for the audience, so that's the challenge being presented by the narrator.

Lyrics
SING
1st Verse
Another dreamer across the stage
Another songwriter filled with love and rage
You got your six string, you got your voice
Now prove that you can sing and don’t just make noise
Pre-Chorus
Ohh you’re not alone
Dreaming your dreams of fame
CHORUS
Sing me your stories
Sing me your soul
Sing me a melody
That won’t let me go
2nd Verse
You see the open-mic, you hear it’s call
You meet all walks of life and try to hear them all
You see Avenue A, a welcome sight
Where you survive the days and live your musical nights
Pre-Chorus
Ohh you’re not alone
Hoping no one forgets your name
CHORUS
Sing me your stories
Sing me your soul
Sing me a melody
That won’t let me go
Sing me your stories
Sing your hopes and fears
Sing me a new song
And captivate my ears
