Story Behind The Song
I live on the border of the U.S. and Mexico and there was a time that I crossed the international bridge everyday from Juarez, Mexico to El Paso TX. Each time I crossed to the U.S., I noticed these certain signs on the Mexican side. One says "Carril para declarar", or "Lane to declare" and another one says " Nada que Declarar", or "Nothing to declare". One day these signs inspired me to make a song with this title "Nada que Declarar" about a relationship that was coming to an end.
I had been dating this girl and although she could be pretty cool, she was also pretty crazy. So, things didn't work out; she had a lot of issues. This song was basically for her. I decided I didn't have anything to say anymore to her other than "goodbye" and that I preferred the good things that are to come than her complicated past.
Thus, a song came about "nothing to declare" came out from this experience.
Song Description
It is a goodbye song. The first two verses are about leaving someone because there are better things coming. The chorus I used simple uuuhhs, and aaaahhs in a very melancholic way like saying "I am leaving but I will miss you, it is sad" with no words. The next two verses talks about her, she is leaving and I am leaving. The bridge talks about the good time we had together, then goes back to the first verse remaining that I am leaving. The last verse says that good things will come out from this tragedy. Goes to a heavy metal solo and finishes with the chorus with uhhs and aaahs.
The influences for this song are Gustavo Cerati, Soda Stereo, Fito Paez, The Beatles, Alex Syntec, and Red Hot Chili Peppers. Could be more but I don't remember.
Please enjoy.

Lyrics
Nada que declarar
No, tengo porque hablar
Ya mis palabras ahogadas estan
O no hay nada, nada, que declarar...
...Le a usted
Gracias fue un placer
Good bye
Prefiero Mañana, na, na, na
Mañana que ayer
Uh...Ah...
Tú te vas de mi lado
De la ciudad me aparto
En este avion de papel
Adios, good bye, vuelo CO736
6 De Febrero
Ya no hay detalles
Todo va mal
Prefiero mañana
Mañana que ayer
Uh...Ah...
Los buenos tiempos
Como los voy a olvidar
En aquel parque donde como niños
Solíamos jugar
Aquellas tardes
El beso, la plaza, la catedral
Cuando lo hicimos antes
De la cena con tus papas
Todo se fue,
Se acabo, adiós
Good bye
No tengo porque hablar
Ya mis palabras ahogadas están
Prefiero mañana, mañana...
...vendrá, un nuevo día
Todo el desierto
Nublado ya llovera
O no hay nada, nada
O no hay nada, nada
Que declarar
Uh... Ah...
