On The Streets

Clear thoughts and sleep are lost tonight
My head is bleeding, I?m in a fright
No one will pick me up from here
I meet only strangers in the night

Don?t know how I got to this place
No change of clothes or bed to sleep on
The damp streets and headlights keep me warm
I?ve wandered around here for a fortnight

And I, will lie my whole life, so close to the truth, that no one can tell
And I, plead with u tonight, to help me to stop, to make me stay

One more word to poetry, one more stroke to art
I won?t face myself, despite my choice to live

And so it goes, I try to change
Is that all not at all
In some way this must make sense
The contradictions never end
