Story Behind The Song

The first half of the song depicts the day that my mentor killed himself and the feeling I had being around my fellow Marines that shared my sorrow. The second half depicts the slow march executed by the 8 Marines that carried his casket (with the American flag draped over it) from t he morgue's doors to the van. The platoon held a salute beginning before the casket was in sight and after the van, in which he was to be taken to the airport, was out of sight (thus the name of the title states).

Song Description

This is in memory of my mentor, Sgt Zachary Jasper. He killed himself in January of 2012.
