Song DescriptionI once met a beautiful brown woman named Sierra, working at a dingy bar in tiny town, West Texas. She was a little bit African American and and a little bit Mexican and just as exquisite looking as a woman could be. Things started out slowly that night between us, but over the next few months things would quickly escalate turn into a natural disaster... Love is a wonderful way to go about making one's worst mistakes. And thanks to Sierra, that lesson is not lost on me.
Story Behind the SongI sent out a letter to the woman I love and it came back 'return to sender.' I looked up at the sky yesterday, but I only had one eye open and the sun was blinding, but the light was warm. I took out my fathers ashes and put them on the kitchen table, and I sat down with a bottle of Basil Haden whiskey and had a few drinks while talking shit to a ghost... and I wrote this song too.

Lyrics
~ God's Lightning Bolt or Satan's Rainbow ~
: Cole Crawford-Hurst & Nick Coleman
05.21.2018
Now it was raining down in Waco,
I was standing by a window,
You were acting like a widow,
Dressed in black like Satan's rainbow,
* ~~> CHORUS:
And you got scars on your skin,
Your wounds fester within,
But your broken heart and your rotten soul,
Well that's the work of lesser men,
A whiskey bottle on the table,
You were cold and cruel like Satan's angel,
Something in you's always hateful,
Sober up and you feel shameful,
* ~~> CHORUS:
And you got scars on your skin,
Your wounds fester within,
But your broken heart and your rotten soul,
Well that's the work of lesser men,
Lit your cigarette and started choking,
Put it down and left it smoking,
But booze ain't the only way of coping,
When your heart is broke and your wounds open,
* ~~> CHORUS:
And you got scars on your skin,
Your wounds fester within,
But your broken heart and your rotten soul,
Well that's the work of lesser men,
The sound of life is something breaking,
That fire dying while the light is fading,
Well it drives some completely crazy,
But it's still wholly worth the undertaking,
But it keeps raining down in Waco,
And you can't look through both sides of a window,
So inside or out but you can't have both,
Are you God's lightning bolt or Satan's rainbow,
* ~~> CHORUS:
And you got scars on your skin,
Your wounds fester within,
But your broken heart and your rotten soul,
Well that's the work of lesser men,
* ~~> CHORUS:
And you got scars on your skin,
Your wounds fester within,
But your broken heart and your rotten soul,
Well that's the work of lesser men,
