Song Description

Being an opera singer for 15 years, I fell in love with operatic repertoire. However, being open to all different genres in music, the idea behind this composition is to make opera contemporary and desirable to younger audience. But most of all faith is everything to a musician like myself since I live and breath music and do it for the love of it.

Story Behind the Song

This song is inspired and based on famous aria "Vissi D'Arte" from opera Tosca by Verdi. Enlish and Italian langueges are fused together to convey an inspirational belief that Faith is an essencial for every human being.

Lyrics

Vissi d'arte, vissi d'amore
Non feci mai male ad anima viva
Con ma furtiva
Quante miserie conobbi autai
[I lived for my art, I lived for love,
I never did harm to a living soul!
With a secret hand
I relieved as many misfortunes as I knew of]

I lived with all my heart
for better or for worse
I did whatever's right
And never thought that'd be a curse

I learned from my mistakes
Faced bad times with a smile
The music was my faith
And I believed that as the years went by

I lived with all my heart
I lived for love and art
The music was my faith
Did I deserve all this please tell me Grace?

I spread my wings so I can fly close to you
I wrote my songs, so I can sing, cause simple words won't do
Fall on my knees reach for the stars, sun and moon
Believe me I'm telling the truth
My faith is you, my faith is you, my faith is you

The music was my faith
The music was my guide
I sacrificed myself to the melody and rhyme

Like a willow in the wind
I bowed to every tune
My brunches- strings of melody
My rhythm - the heart of bloom

Nell'ora del dolor
perche, perche, Signor,
Perche me ne rimuneri cosi?
[In the hour of grief
why, why, o Lord
why do you reward me so?]

I spread my wings so I can fly close to you
I wrote my songs, so I can sing, cause simple words won't do
Fall on my knees reach for the stars, sun and moon
Believe me I'm telling the truth
My faith is you, my faith is you, my faith is you
