Squeeze In

Story Behind The Song

This was one of the first songs I wrote after I became a Christian. We used to be involved in a campus ministry that met in a living room. We literally had to squeeze in to make room for everyone so I wrote this song. Fun!

Song Description

This is a fun, lively song for an informal Christian gathering. With references to heaven and the rapture, it beckons the listener to sing along. Humorous twist with the sizes of people, fat and skinny mentioned.

Lyrics

Chorus: Squeeze in, O brethren.
Squeeze in real tight.
We're gonna praise the Lord
Squeezed in tonight.
Get close to your neighbor
and look him in the eye.
Someday you may see him
with Jesus in the sky!

I know we're a little crowded now
But that's okay by me.
I'd rather be a little crowded now,
Don't you all agree?
I don't want to be an old stick in the mud
Out there by myself.
I'd rather be loving God with you,
Not stuck on some old shelf!

There's fat ones, skinny ones, short ones, tall ones,
All one body we
Let's get to know each other now
'Cause in eternity
We'll have our mansions all in a row,
Just so neighborly.
So let's get started. Come on folks,
Now sing this song with me.

Great idea to set a scene of people crowded together at a church service....one of those sing alongs ya can't get away from...fun stuff.

Beauty of a Contemporary Christian Country tune. Great story that is delivered by a wonderful vocal arrangement. Instruments support the vocals by not taking over. Pro production. Well done. Amen

Think I know who this is..... its always good at what do

I like the positive happy vibe.

Hello Kate!! I like this! Nice traditional gospelly feeling!! Very catchy and well written!!

Nice vocals and happy positive message! Liked the echo vocals and the steady rhythm guitar the song was a good length it didn't seem To be too long. Good harmonies and balance going on
Enjoyed the slowdown parts and the ending well thought out and fun with a spirit of joy, keep up the good work
And the good news!

Excellent song, very moving and appropriate for a Christian TV-program or Gospel.

This was a fun bluegrass style country song about jesus. it was fun upbeat and made you want to tap your toes. I could see it being sung in a children's or country church. it reminds me of my parents church music, which plays old school gospel. it was a fun song.

Really Good

Surely is different. I really do not know how to comment on this song. I like it cause of it being different.

Beautiful Harmonies, kids would love this!
Put a smile on my face!

Fun, very happy and welcoming.

Too Cute!! Enjoyed the happy feel!
