Story Behind The Song
This song was written for the vocalist of a local band that was signed a few years back. They recorded their CD and were about to release it. The lead singer disappeared, went on a drunken binge. 3 weeks later, they found him in some remote place in jail. He ended up going into rehab for a month, causing them to delay the release of the CD. All the band members had quit their day jobs, but they had to cancel tour dates due to the delayed CD release. This song talks about how his addictions hurt all those around him.

Lyrics
Can?t Stop
By Mike Lewis
{Solo Chorus:}
{Verse 1:}
My life is a mess, no matter what I try to do
In spite of success, let my demons run amuck my life
Seems more is just less, much harder than it used to be
My life is not what I want it to be?
{Chorus:}
But I can?t stop?even if I wanted to
But I can?t stop?even if I hurt someone
And I can?t stop?when I try to walk away
{Verse 2:}
My troubles are broad, affecting everyone I know
I feel like I?m called, to come right when they tell me to
So sad to be ruled by monsters deep inside of me
What can I do to turn this misery around?
{Chorus.}
I just Fail?
{Bridge:}
From the love of another I try to draw life
From my sisters and brothers, from my friends and my wife
Can we beat this together, with the help of my friends
Can I defeat it forever, never to return here again?
{Chorus.}
{Solo Verse.}
{Chorus.}
{Verse 3:}
So where will I go, only I can really find the way
What do I know, got to struggle with it every day
What have I to show, well what more can I really say
I can fight or I can give it up?.
{Chorus}.
{End}.
