Song Description

A contrast of the classic poem with a current update over a soundtrack to match the emotions conveyed.

Lyrics

FRANKENJOCKEY
Was darkened, and the pithy stoves
Did fire and wimble in the wave
Of windy nights and drunken hoves.
And the moths ran to graves.

Beware the Frankenjock, hey bud!
The tie that binds, the grasp that melts!
Beware the lady suit, you dud,
in furious skins and pelts.

Bud took his vocal chords in deep,
And long the blue beast foe he sought --
He practiced on the throng and threep,
With heavy jugs of thought.

While he in oratory stood,
The Frankenjock, with eyes cold blue,
Rose from the gilded halls of wood,
Surrounded by its crew!

One, two! One, two! Came the blue crew.
The snaps of weapons onto skulls
Brought forth the throng, to face the blue
Who scurried back the dulls.

And, dulls remain with Frankenjock.
They plot anew, yo squeamish bud!
O fractious days! The days of rocks!'
With bodies in the mud.

Was darkened, and the pithy stoves
Did fire and wimble in the wave
Of windy nights and drunken hoves.
And the moths ran to graves.

JABBERWOCKY
Lewis Carroll
(from Through the Looking-Glass and What Alice Found There, 1872)

`Twas brillig, and the slithy toves
Did gyre and gimble in the wabe:
All mimsy were the borogoves,
And the mome raths outgrabe.

"Beware the Jabberwock, my son!
The jaws that bite, the claws that catch!
Beware the Jubjub bird, and shun
The frumious Bandersnatch!"

He took his vorpal sword in hand:
Long time the manxome foe he sought --
So rested he by the Tumtum tree,
And stood awhile in thought.

And, as in uffish thought he stood,
The Jabberwock, with eyes of flame,
Came whiffling through the tulgey wood,
And burbled as it came!

One, two! One, two! And through and through
The vorpal blade went snicker-snack!
He left it dead, and with its head
He went galumphing back.

"And, has thou slain the Jabberwock?
Come to my arms, my beamish boy!
O frabjous day! Callooh! Callay!'
He chortled in his joy.

`Twas brillig, and the slithy toves
Did gyre and gimble in the wabe;
All mimsy were the borogoves,
And the mome raths outgrabe.
