Rooster crowin' at the crack of dawn
Baby blue sky burnt pink by the sun.
Grandma's flapjacks fill the air.

Ol' milk wagon bangin' down the street.
Laughin' 'n chasin' on dusty feet.
Mesquite sweetly tickles my nose.

Summer sun and memories burn me with yearning for long lost childhood days.
Like some fuzzy old radio, the past ebbs and then it flows, with life long since faded away.

Palms sway softly in the evening breeze.
Grandpop rocks me upon his knees.
More stars than heaven knows appear.
