Story Behind The Song

As the #MeToo movement gained momentum and women started speaking out, I felt the strong urge to proclaim my power as a women who survived and is no longer a victim of sexual abuse. This song first found its voice in a back hall at a music conference when a band of musicians (strangers until the first chord) gathered spontaneously to join me as I worked thru this new song. There was power in all those voices raised together to proclaim, "I am a river rock, tumbled smooth, by the rush of life, this life I choose." Noel Paul Stookey (Of Peter, Paul and Mary) wandered by at the perfect moment to join in and capture it all on video.
