Story Behind The Song
When I recorded this song, I was using a friends guitar and all but two of the strings were broken. I tuned them both to the same note (i believe it was C). It came together at random. I wanted a real straight forward hip-hop esq beat to give it an element of pop. Then I programmed the keys and the rest just fell into place. It only took a total of about 12 hours to write, record and produce. This is one of my older compositions and I still had a lot to learn about production, but this song remains a signature piece to represent my style.
Song Description
On the horizon...what is it? Is it a mirage? As my steps draw closer and the day draws to an end, I make the realization that this so called optical illusion is indeed truth. I fall to my knees and drink from the crystal pool. After going days without the life giving water, I finally will quench this plague of thirst. A thirst that had consumed my every thought for so long now. The cold will soon return with it's inky black counterpart in night. Perhaps this frail oasis will provide me with enough brush to sustain a fire. Perhaps...perhaps...perhaps...
