Story Behind The Song
This is a melanchonic work, inspired by Dan Brown's Da Vinci Code. It aims to encapsulate one of the main themes of the book. The vocals resemble gregorian chant, which was used to simulate the religious scenes within the book. The trio of voices were used to represent the holy trinity. The lyrics are a latin repetition - "Dona eis requiem", which translates as "Let them sleep", an idea within the book that we are sometimes better off not knowing the complete truth. The entire piece was derived from the main delayed guitar lick which runs throughout the song.
