Song Description
I described Not A Cloud In The Sky as a nature and environment-specific song in the subject matter category first, eluding to its literal content. The second category is spiritual, referencing the song's figurative component.
"If each star in the sky is a moment I've owned, should I count them "til morning, or am I to know". Many times we have wondered how many visible stars are up there. And yet, there is a finite number. Here, I was relating this age-old question to how many moments (and days, years) we all have here.
I set out to create a bit of an edge to the song in terms of its overall sound. The harmonica, shakers that sound like a rattlesnake, heavy tremolo on the guitar- those were devices I employed to create the impression of a desert night, with a warm breeze, a cloudless, star-filled sky, and a mind and heart at peace.

NOT A CLOUD IN THE SKY

Intro:
Verse 1:
If I could leave it behind, I certainly would
Just forget all the problems, it might do me some good
In a silence that I thought I?d never know
I hear the sound of footsteps and their not my own
Chorus:
There?s not a cloud in the sky, as far?s I can see
There?s not a cloud in the sky, tonight
As the sun fades so gently, in a sweet summer breeze
There?s not a cloud in the sky, tonight
Verse 2:
If each star in the sky, is a moment I?ve owned
Should I count them ?til morning, or am I to know
Here beneath the sheltering trees
The storm has blown over and I feel at ease
Chorus:
