Story Behind The Song
There was a girl from many years ago that I was deeply in love with but she did not feel the same about me. I was looking in a yearbook during a move to a new house and saw her picture. A rush feeling came through me and I said to myself on the spot "I wish I knew what it was to be the one she loved". The song quickly unravalled from that point.
Song Description
A moving song about the love that was never had. This piece lyrically explores at many different emotional levels the symbiotic relationship between the unfulfilled feelings of old with those of the current relationship. This is a story of chronic internal struggle of where one could have been versus where one ends up and how this is dealt with over time.

Lyrics
There?s somebody I?ll wonder my whole life
What it must have been to be the one she loved
To feel her kiss me, to simply hold her hand
Were the little passions I?d be dreaming of
And there were others more attractive
Some were pretty
Some were wealthy
But the thing that really made me want her
Was not how she looked to me
But how I looked at her
Sometimes I?d see her with another
Kissing him and loving him instead
And I?d watch closely while he stared in her eyes
But he never looked at her the way I did
I see her picture in an old book
Between some faces
I used to know
And she smiles the one that says ?I love you?
But that sweet story
Was never for me
Some days I?ll wake up in the morning
With the woman who truly loves me by my side
And she?ll look at me the way I used to look at her
Then my breath will stop a moment and I?ll sigh
There?s somebody I?ll wonder my whole life
What it must have been to be the one she loved
What it must have been to be the one she loved
