Story Behind The Song

This song basically expresses my worldview. I believe we were created by a God who is pure and holy, but the presence of sin has separated us from him, and we need to become pure to be reconciled with him. This song is an expression of my decision to turn away from the sins that constantly bombard and tempt us in this western world, and live a life of goodness to others.

Song Description

You could almost call this a gospel song. Despite its obvious divergence from the usual sound of gospel music, the core of the song is a message to turn away from evil and embrace love and goodness in a world of decay. A decision is seen to be made in the Chorus "Aside I push it away from me (speaking of sin)... in the light (God) my shadow's only slight". This line sums up the entire song, showing that we cannot accept the standards we see in the world around us, as these standards are based on no real moral foundation.
