Story Behind The Song
I lost my mother very suddenly when I was 18 years. I had written a lot of songs about what a wonderful person she was and what our relationship was like but it was very difficult for me to discuss/write about what the loss meant for me. "Move" accomplished that for me.

Lyrics
I walk through the double doors
Red carpet lining the tear stained floors
The smell overwhelms me
It's clean with chemicals and flowers and I'm queasy
I feel so weak in the knees
But I still have the strength to scream
If you could just move and breathe
This can't be happening
Not to her and not to me
If you could wake up and open up your eyes
We can go home, we can go home
We're in a home but not our own
A home of misery and empty where everyone's alone
Each step is heavier than the last
I choke, I gasp, can't help my breath with this feeling pass
Will it pass, will it pass
I get a little closer and I look at your face
I pass out, I faint to wake and wait
If you could just move and breathe
This can't be happening
Not to her and not to me
If you could wake up and open up your eyes
We can go home, we can go home
I'm not asking I am begging
One more time
Just a little more life for me please
Can you hear me, I am breaking
Open your eyes and see what your daughter's become
Open your eyes
Move and breathe
This can't be happening
Not to her and not to me
If you could wake up and open up your eyes
We can go home, we can go home
Just move
We can go home, we can go home
