I Refuse To Read The News is a song about being frustrated at all the negative stuff we see in the news every day... reminding us what state the world is really in while we in our "civilized" world bubble deal with our so called "problems". It's about how we become slightly numb to all the atrocities through our overexposure to them through the media on a daily basis.
