Story Behind The Song
Complete one-off in terms of subject matter and genre. Before I continue, I must stress I'm not a grade A nutter! Believe me? Great. Ok, here goes:
I was out and about one day and out of the blue, a stranger walked past that I thought I knew. It started out as a "where have I seen that face before?" type of thing, but the curiosity stayed all day long.
Later that night, I was still pondering who this person was whilst gently strumming my guitar. Then the opening riff came, and it sent me into a kind of day dream. The lyrics wrote themselves because I was just describing what I was seeing, which was - wait for it! - me lying in bed with this stranger I'd seen in the street earlier that day! Everything was medieval, stone walls, flame lights, clothy clothes, the works! But what was more weird, because believe me, anyone who knows me knows I'm no spiritual nut and never have been, was that I was feeling this dreamy moment with the senses you get in dreams. It was like my instincts swore it was something that had happened to me in the past.
Well, thanks for reading this far and believe me, I know how strange all this is. I haven't wrote anything like this since or before, as I tend not to have these sort of experiences. I just hope if it happens again, the next vision isn't men in white coats or something!!

Lyrics
Maybe it's hard
Because we've been here before
In medieval times
The night is our own
The bedsheets wove
A simple dress on the floor
With cloth in your hair
(The) flames warmth in our face
And you lay down with him (x4)
But who are you?
It explains the way I feel
An irrational way to feel
Needing time to heal
But we're not together
And you lay down with him
But who are you?
We've been here before
That vivid dream
So real to recall
A way of telling me
That we've been here before
The night is our own
The bedsheets wove
And our love is deeper than the earth
Have we been here before?
Have we ever been here before?
Tell me have we been here before?
I wonder have we been here before?
