Lyrics

Good-Byes

So sad, goodbyes
Tears of joy and sadness fill my eyes
As I look at you beside me,
I see things I have missed.
So few, the hours
That we took to be just you and me
So long the time we had to spend
But games got in our way.
And a piece of me will tear away and stay with you
no loss for me because, a piece of you I'll take with me
And sometimes in the night, I'll smile and think of you
Sometimes... like now I may cry
Sometimes, I may want to fly to
be with you again.

I see your eyes,
and it fills my mind with wonder-whys
Wonder why inside I feel this way
Wonder why, I held me back
But most of all,
I wonder how I grew to love you so
Dear person who I barely know
Through all my wasted time.
And a piece of me will tear away and stay with you
no loss for me because, a piece of you I'll take with me
And sometimes in the night, I'll smile and think of you
Sometimes... like now I may cry
Sometimes, I may want to fly to
be with you again.

I thank you now,
For taking such good care of me
When I let you hold my destiny
and identity for me
But now, its mine
and I feel content with what I find
But I feel ripped off when I look at you
Cause we've run out of time
And a piece of me will tear away and stay with you
no loss for me because, a piece of you I'll take with me
And sometimes in the night, I'll smile and think of you
Sometimes... like now I may cry
Sometimes, I may want to fly to
be with you again.

So sad, goodbyes
tears of joy and sadness fill my eyes
As we each face our new enterprise
and things that just can't be again.

Instrumentation right off the bat is excellent- suits the country style - expert playing of instruments thru the tune... touching lyrics, very relatable, sung with a unique style almost hesitant, short talk/singing with no held notes -- this is a good nuance to rely the emotion as if you re telling this to the person, not singing it with long notes - kind of a Gordon Lightfoot technique --- this could be in a movie soundtrack .....good work, good luck with the song
