Dream of Peace

Story Behind The Song

Long story short, a group of nearly 30 local children recorded a song entitled "Dream of Peace". The song is intended to empower children to help others around the globe by doing, speaking and being the positive change they want to see in the world. They are not professional or part of any organization, nor are they looking for any compensation in return for the use of their song. They participated for no other reason than they wanted to do their part in creating positive change. I would be honored if you might take a moment to listen to our song and see if it might be an appropriate addition to your outreach programs. The song was chosen the theme for the United Nation's International Day of Peace celebrations in 2006 and has raised funds and awareness for the United Nations World Environment Programme, World Environment Day and the International Museum for Women. We would like this song to continue spreading the message that a thoughtful group of people (children) can create real change! Thank you in advance for your consideration. Song Description

Children ask the feminine "Mama" whether their own mother, or Mother Earth or the embodiment of a spiritual mother "what can we do, say and be to make the world a better place". Mama responds with advice to bring peace into their own hearts, lives and daily lives and that is how peace spreads beyond our boarders.

Lyrics

Dream of Peace

Children's Chorus (to Mother Earth):
Mama
Mama
What can I do
Mama

Little children ask me, what can we do
To make this world a better place for me and you
We're all together here
We share the same dream

Men and women, boys and girls
In every color, language of the world
If we find peace in our own hearts
Peace in our own minds
We'll find peace beyond our boarders
Peace in our own time

It's our birth right, it's a bright light
It's the love inside we all share
We all share
The dream of peace

Children's Chorus:
Mama
What can I do
To make this world a better place for me and you

Mama
What can I say
To bring a little peace inside of each new day

Mama
What can I be
to grow up in a world that's full of harmony
I dream of peace

Martin Luther King Junior knew, so did Ghandi too
They walked the walk, they talked the talk
Of peace and love and truth
Wise one's come and give us hope
Give us faith and help us grow

It's our birthright, it's a bright light
It's the love inside we all share
We all share
The dream of peace

Mama
What can I do
To make this world a better place for me and you

Mama
What can I say
To bring a little peace inside of each new day

Mama
What can I be
To grow up in a world that's full of harmony

Mama
I dream of peace
I dream of peace

Wise ones
give us faith
This precious world we share
It's time we take care
Wake up and make it right
Give us hope
It's time that we take care
help us make the choice that's right

Mama
What can I do
To make this world a better place for me and you

Mama
What can I say
To bring a little peace inside of each new day

Mama
What can I be
To grow up in a world that's full of harmony

Mama
I dream of peace, I dream of Peace
