Story Behind The Song

"Crying Yourself To Sleep" is one of the records dearest to me, in that it deals with two very strenuous situations that I dealt with. The first verse addresses the breakup between my parents that seemed to tear our family apart for quite sometime. I wanted to make a record that shows both of my parents that I love them equally and don't hold a grudge against either of them for what happened and the effect it had on me or my sister. Now, the second verse deals with a close female friend whose father got deployed to Iraq... it broke my heart to see how she was affected by his situation. So many times I wanted to help her, but it seemed like she just couldn't be helped... it really, really got to her. So, that verse was therapeutic to myself and hopefully to her, as well. She's back to her joyous self now, and I never want to see her in that state again, or my parents for that matter.
